Types of infectious diseases

Among the types of infectious diseases we will highlight two:

Sexually transmitted diseases

The sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are spread mainly through sexual intercourse. Some can be passed from mother to fetus during pregnancy. Are due to:

Bacteria: cause diseases such as gonorrhea, syphilis, candidiasis, ...
Viruses: produce diseases such as genital herpes, hepatitis, AIDS, human papilloma, ...

Diseases produced by external and internal parasites

Disease-causing parasitic organisms can be:

Ectoparasites or external parasites: they act as vectors, transmitting diseases such as typhus, malaria, dysentery and pediculosis.
Endoparasites or internal parasites: such as worms, which cause diseases such as ascariasis (roundworm), trichinosis and anisakiasis.
